Who this is for

For Dogs Who Need Quick Paw Care Between Grooms

Our mobile nail trim is a focused, 20-to-30-minute visit designed for dogs who need regular paw care without the full grooming experience. No car ride, no waiting room, no crowded salon — just one-on-one attention in our van at your home.

Common reasons pet parents book a mobile nail trim:

  • Skip full grooms but still need regular paw care
  • Have nails that grow fast (especially small breeds and seniors)
  • Get nervous at the vet or salon
  • Hate car rides or don't do well in busy spaces
  • Need a quick refresh without the whole spa treatment
  • Live in apartments, condos, or townhomes without easy grooming access

If your dog also needs a wash, blow-dry, or haircut, our Mobile Bath & Brush and Full Body Haircut services include a complimentary nail trim — often better value if both are due.

Preventative Care

It's More Than a Nail Trim — It's Preventative Care

You might think of nail trimming as optional—but for dogs, it's a key part of their comfort and long-term health.

Overgrown nails change posture: Dogs walk differently to avoid pressure, which can lead to joint strain and hip issues, especially in seniors.

Cracked nails hurt (and bleed): A split nail can snag on carpet or break painfully, often requiring a vet visit.

Long nails mean long "quicks": The longer you go between trims, the harder it is to get nails back to a healthy length without pain.

Regular trimming is the best way to prevent these problems. It keeps your dog comfortable and healthy.

Our Difference

Our Nail Trimming Routine Is Different

We've groomed hundreds of dogs who used to panic during nail trims. We've helped anxious pups learn to relax during trims — learn more about our story. If your dog is new to trims or has had a bad experience before, we'll work with you to make the process as comfortable as possible.

"Millie used to snap the moment the nail grinder came out. Now? She gives them one paw at a time like she's at the spa. They don't rush, they don't force, and they bring all the cuddles."

— Millie's family, Broomfield (Schnauzer)

What's Included

What's Included in our Nail Trim Service?

Our mobile dog nail trimming isn't a rushed job. It's calm, thorough, and designed to help your dog build confidence with every visit - all from our fully equipped van, parked in your driveway.

Each nail trim appointment includes:
  • Paw & nail check: a quick hands-on look at all four paws before we start - nail length, quick position, and any cracks or splits we need to work around.
  • Dremel nail grinding: we use a low-vibration rotary tool to grind nails smooth instead of just clipping. The result is a softer, rounded edge that's gentler on your floors, your furniture, and your arms.
  • Clippers on request: if your dog is more comfortable with traditional clippers - or if we need to shorten very long nails first - we'll switch tools. Whatever keeps the appointment calm.
  • Complimentary ear cleaning: a light ear clean to remove wax buildup and keep ears comfortable between full grooms.
  • Complimentary teeth wipe & breath refresh: a quick oral hygiene moment - a mini spa finish between grooms.
  • Calm, one-on-one pacing: your dog is the only pet in the van - no waiting kennels, no strange dogs, no rushed handoffs. We work at their pace, one paw at a time.

Most nail trim appointments run 20 to 30 minutes from hello to goodbye. Anxious first-timers may go slightly longer — we don't rush, and you don't pay extra for the time.

A bath or full groom is not included in this service. If your dog also needs a wash or haircut, see our Mobile Bath & Brush or Full Body Haircut services.

Dogs Who Used to Hate Nail Trims — Until They Met Our Van

Real reviews from Denver Metro pet parents whose dogs don't always love the clippers.

★★★★★

"No screaming. No sedation. All four paws done."

"Our dog got all of his nails trimmed! Even at the vet he will scream and flail around, being sent home incomplete with a recommendation for trazodone ahead of time in the future. This mobile grooming truck was able to get all his nails trimmed without even hearing him scream, and no drugs needed! He must've trusted the care he was under because he's never been comfortable with his nails trimmed before. He even came out wearing a nice bow tie! Would 100% recommend for anyone skeptical because their dogs historically don't tolerate trims. Give them a shot!!"

— Lauren

★★★★★

"From a 180-lb boy to a Yorkie — everyone behaved."

"Our grooming experience was great. Even our 180-lb boy didn't even mind getting his nails done (like bear claws). Plus our Yorkie was well behaved. Highly recommended and we will definitely be using Fur Sure Grooming again."

— Sheri

★★★★★

"THE place to go for mobile pet grooming."

"THE place to go for mobile pet grooming! Angelique and Jacob are so friendly, great with dogs, and they did a fantastic job with Lyla's nail trim, teeth and ear cleaning. Plus, Lyla came home with a bandana?!? Can't recommend enough."

Frequently Asked Questions About Mobile Dog Nail Trims

How often should my dog get a nail trim?

Most dogs benefit from a trim every 3-4 weeks. That may sound frequent, but regular sessions mean:

  • Less stress on the dog
  • Less risk of cutting the quick
  • Healthier paws in the long run

And here's the thing—when we trim often, the quick recedes, which means you can safely keep nails short. That's a win for your dog's comfort and your hardwood floors.

Why is maintaining proper nail length important for dogs?

Healthy nails aren't just for show — they're key to keeping your pup moving comfortably. Overgrown nails can cause discomfort, limit mobility, and even lead to joint issues over time. We gently shape nails using a Dremel for a smooth finish whenever possible. If your pup prefers, we switch to traditional clippers — whatever keeps tails wagging and paws happy.

Do you use clippers or a Dremel for nail trims?

We use both, and we choose based on what your dog tolerates best. A Dremel grinder is our go-to because it leaves a smooth, rounded finish that won't snag on furniture or scratch your floors, and it gives us finer control around the quick. For dogs who don't love the vibration or sound of the grinder, we switch to traditional clippers - quick, quiet, and just as safe in experienced hands. Tell us at the start of the appointment if your dog has a preference, or we'll read their comfort level and adjust on the fly.

What if my dog hates having their paws touched?

You're not alone - paw sensitivity is one of the most common reasons dog owners book us instead of a salon. Our mobile setup helps because there are no other dogs around, no loud salon dryers, and no time pressure. We use low-stress handling, take frequent breaks, and praise heavily between paws. If your pup needs us to do one foot at a time across two visits, that's fine - building a positive association with paw handling is more important than rushing through. Let us know about any past trauma, recent injuries, or sore joints when you book so we can pace the appointment.

Can you trim black nails where the quick isn't visible?

Yes, and it's actually one of the situations where our Dremel really shines. With black nails, you can't see the pink quick from the outside the way you can on light-colored nails, so we work in small amounts and watch the cross-section as we go. The cut surface gradually changes from chalky white to a darker grey ring as the quick gets close, and that's our signal to stop.

Can I book nail trims between full grooms?

Yes. You don't need to wait for a full grooming appointment to keep your dog's nails healthy. Our nail trim service can be booked as a standalone visit anytime between full grooms. Regular trims every 3 to 4 weeks prevent overgrowth, protect paw pads, and keep your pup comfortable on walks.
